Employee Recognition Programs

Employee Recognition at Arkansas Surgical Hospital: More Than a “Thank You!”

These awards are just one way Arkansas Surgical Hospital recognizes the exceptional work performed by our staff every day—with every patient.

The DAISY Award, which stands for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System,” was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Mr. Barnes’ family was positively impacted by the nursing excellence he received prior to his autoimmune-related death. Nurses nominated for the DAISY Award demonstrate exceptional qualities such as caring, flexibility, relationships with co-workers, leadership, and more.

ASH Star Award

The ASH Star Award was created for all non-nursing employees as a way to show appreciation for all they do. This can include patient care, project leadership, customer service, serving as an example of our Standards of Behavior, and more.

Nominations & Selection Process

Anyone can nominate a member of the Arkansas Surgical Hospital staff for recognition. All you need to do is complete an online nomination form or a paper nomination form are located in the lobby.

A selection committee made up of employees and leaders review the nominations quarterly. The top performers in each category will be selected. The four winners for each category will be eligible for the top award of Daisy and Star for that year.

Quarterly and annual winners receive special recognition and cash rewards.
