Dr. Scott Bowen specializes in minimally invasive surgeries of the hip, knee and shoulder including joint replacement and arthroscopic procedures.
Dr. Bowen graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in chemistry in 1977. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Bowen completed his internship in general surgery at Tulane University in Louisiana. He then returned to Little Rock for a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery at UAMS.
Dr. Bowen is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Arkansas Medical Society. He has been published in The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery.
Dr. Bowen currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Managers for Arkansas Surgical Hospital. He has participated in numerous clinical research trials over the past 15 years. He has been in private practice in central Arkansas for over 30 years and has been voted numerous times as one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the Arkansas Times, AY and Arkansas Democrat Gazette Best Doctors polls.
