Dr. Hefley specializes in minimally invasive surgeries of the knee, hip and shoulder including arthroscopic and joint replacement procedures. He is a native of Little Rock who graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from Harding University in 1981. After receiving his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of medicine in 1985, Dr. Hefley completed a transitional internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1990 and received additional training in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery from St. Mary’s Hospital System in the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in London, England. Dr. Hefley began his practice in Little Rock in 1990.
Dr. Hefley has been published in journals such as The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Hefley has also been voted Best of the Best for many years by readers of AY Magazine, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and Arkansas Life. He has led many clinical research trials over the last 20 years. In addition, he also serves on design teams developing new hip and knee replacement implants.
