Employee Recognition at Arkansas Surgical Hospital: More Than a “Thank You!”
These awards are just one way Arkansas Surgical Hospital recognizes the exceptional work performed by our staff every day—and in every encounter.
The DAISY Award, which stands for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System,” was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Mr. Barnes’ family was positively impacted by the nursing excellence he received prior to his autoimmune-related death. Nurses nominated for the DAISY Award demonstrate exceptional qualities such as caring, flexibility, relationships with co-workers, leadership, and more.
ASH Star Award
The ASH Star Award was created for all non-nursing employees as a way to show appreciation for all they do. This can include patient care, project leadership, customer service, serving as an example of our Standards of Behavior, and more.
Nominations & Selection Process
Nominations can come from patients, family members, co-workers, or physicians. They can be made by completing the online nomination forms or by completing the forms available in the hospital lobby.
The selection committee will review nominations quarterly, and a top performer for each award will be selected. They will be the employees considered for the Annual DAISY & ASH Star Awards, which are presented during Hospital Week in May of each year.
Quarterly winners will receive a $50 gift card, a recognition pin, and a department reception.
Annual winners will receive $500, a trophy, and a plaque with their name.
